Andrea Breiner

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in the state of Colorado. I have been practicing for over 6 years in a variety of settings including a short-term residential facility, multiple prisons, and community mental health. My aim is to help you better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, what they mean, and how they relate to your present-day struggles and challenges. I understand that each client faces unique challenges and needs to work on themselves at their own pace, I approach every client with an open mind, and never make any assumptions about your life experience. Together, we will work to deepen your awareness, understanding of your desires, patterns of relating, so you may experience a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Areas of Expertise

Addiction and Substance use, Trauma-Informed, Suicidality, and Criminal Justice.

I come from a client centered approach by treating the whole person utilizing the bio psychosocial model of treatment and I utilize a wide range of evidence-based approaches that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength-Based Therapy, and Individual Therapy.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), DUI, IOP, and more.

My goal is to empower everyday people to tell their story, understand themselves, and make a difference in their lives and their communities.

In my free-time I enjoy taking advantage of the nature around me with family and friends, including camping, hiking, rafting, going to the lake, and exploring new places to travel. You will find my adorable Labrador, Kodiak, by my side on these adventures.

Mental illness is not a choice but recovery is.
